LOUISVILLE – In the latest Coaches' Poll released by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association on Monday morning Salisbury University held strong at No. 3 in the country.
The Sea Gulls, who collected 357 points in the latest poll, posted a 2-0 week as they defeated St. Mary's College of Maryland in the regular-season finale and Southern Virginia University in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament.
Rochester Institute of technology remained atop the nation as the Tigers received 394 points and collected 14 of the 20 possible first-place votes. Capital Athletic Conference rival York College of Pennsylvania remained No. 2 with 381 points and earned four first-place votes.
Tufts University held strong at No. 4 as the Jumbos racked up 345 total points while they garnered two first-place votes. Amherst College moved up one spot to take over the last spot in the top five as it totaled 316 points.
Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, May 1 when it takes on Christopher Newport University in the semifinal round of the CAC tournament. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. at Sea Gull Stadium.
