Five Sea Gulls named to All-conference teams
YORK, Pa. – The Salisbury men's soccer team was honored with five members of the team being named to the All-Capital Athletic Conference teams, the league announced on Thursday.
Greene and Callahan, both making their first appearances as All-CAC selections, were two of Salisbury's biggest offensive weapons this season. Greene was second on the team with six goals and 14 points; he also chipped in with two assists, while Callahan led the team with six assists.
Humphrey was a mainstay on the Sea Gull defensive line and help out in the midfield with two assists. The Ocean City, Md., native was named to his second All-CAC team with this selection; last season, Humphrey made the All-CAC second team.
Salisbury had two players named to the All-conference second team in senior midfielder Jimmy Mundy and junior defender Larry Cornish. Both were named to the All-CAC first team last season, and Mundy is making his third appearance, as he was honored on the first team on 2010.
Mundy was one of two players to start in all of Salisbury's 18 games in 2012, while scoring one goal for two points.
Cornish played in all 18 games, starting 16. He was one of Salisbury's strongest and most consistent defenders during the year, and registered one assist for one point.
Five All-CAC team members matches last year's total, as the Gulls are consistently a strong presence in the conference.
