KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches (formerly known as the NSCAA) has announced its 2017-18 class for the associations 30 Under 30 Program and Salisbury Men's Head Soccer Coach Alex Hargrove earned recognition as he was named to the list of honorees. The organization selected 15 men and 15 women for the prestigious award from more than 300 applicants.
Hargrove is entering his second seaosn at the helm for the maroon and gold and posted a 7-8-1 record during his first season. He is a 2009 graduate of Salisbury University playing under and then assisting the coach he would eventually replace, Dr. Gerry DiBartolo. Hargrove played all four season for the Sea Gulls starting 64 matches and netting 21 career goals. He was named All-CAC First Team twice in his tenure as well as earning National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region honors his senior season.
The program was launched in 2013 and is a year-long education and mentorship opportunity that is designed to support up-and-coming members of the coaching profession who are 30 years old or younger. Each participant will receive an educational scholarship which will provide registrations for the United Sates Coaches Convention and an Advanced Diploma course of the coach's choosing, as well as a travel stipend. They will also be matched with a mentor dedicated to fostering their growth in the game and expanding their coaching network.
