Brookhart named CAC co-Defensive Player of the Week

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners for men's soccer on Monday and Salisbury University junior Trevor Brookhart was named the league's co-Defensive Player of the Week.

Brookhart allowed just one goal in 202 minutes of action in a 1-0-1 week for the Sea Gulls, with the only goal surrendered coming on a penalty kick. In a 1-1 tie with first-place Christopher Newport University, Brookhart made eight saves, including three in overtime to secure a crucial point in the CAC standings for the Gulls.

In a 1-0 overtime victory over Frostburg State University, Brookhart saved all five shots that came his way to move Salisbury into the sixth and final playoff spot heading into the regular season finale. The shutout was Brookhart's fourth of the season.

In his first season with the Sea Gulls, Brookhart ranks second in the conference in save percentage and goals-against average and is third in saves.

Salisbury concludes the regular season on Wednesday, October 25 at 3 p.m. against Wesley College. The Sea Gulls can clinch a playoff spot with a win.
