CAC swimming preseason poll tabs men third, women fifth

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released the 2018 swimming preseason poll on Friday morning and the Salisbury University men's swimming team was selected to finish third with 10 points, while the women's team was chosen to finish fifth with four points.

The University of Mary Washington was picked to finish first on both the men's and women's side, earning four first-place votes and 16 points.

York College of Pennsylvania received the final first-place vote and 13 points to land in second on each side.

On the men's side, St. Mary's College of Maryland came in just behind Salisbury in fourth with seven points, while Frostburg State University landed in fifth with four points.

On the women's side, St. Mary's edged out Frostburg State for the third spot, garnering nine points to the Bobcats' eight.

The men's and women's swimming teams have their first CAC meet this Saturday, October 27 as they travel to York for a 1 p.m. meet.
