VIDEO: Swimming vs. Washington College
The Salisbury University men’s and women’s swimming teams hosted Washington College on Wednesday night, with the men falling 123-80 and women dropping a 127-76 decision. Richie Baker captured the lone individual victory of the night for the men, with his win coming in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 1:59.10. In one of the most exciting races of the night, twin brothers Josh Brown and Jake Brown faced off in the 50-meter freestyle. It was Jake who got the better of Josh in this one, as he touched the wall just before Josh to claim first. The men finished the night with a win in the 200-meter freestyle relay, as the team of Jake Ryan, Andrew Ward, Baker, and Brown finished in a time of 1:39.96. Chase McClure claimed first place in the 100-meter freestyle, touching the wall in a time of 1:04.38. Natalie Eakin followed up McClure with a victory in the 100-meter backstroke, finishing in a time of 1:13.22. The women ended the meet with a win in the 200-meter freestyle relay, as the team of Jordyn Rowe, Mary Green, McClure, and Eakin came from behind to finish first in a time of 1:59.00. The men’s and women’s swimming teams are back in action on Saturday, November 10 as they host Penn State University-Altoona at 1 p.m.
