YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced on Wednesday its weekly men's tennis awards for the week ending on Sunday, March 19 and Salisbury University freshman Patrick MacLean was named the league's Player of the Week.
MacLean helped Salisbury to a pair of wins last week, topping Hampden-Sydney College and St. Lawrence University in a pair of neutral site contests. MacLean won his two singles matches, earning a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 3 against Hampden-Sydney, while going for a 6-4, 6-7, 6-1 win at No. 4 against St. Lawrence.
In doubles play, the Crownsville, Maryland native also grabbed two wins, both at the No. 2 spot. With classmate Matthew Ryan, he won 9-8 against Hampden-Sydney and picked up an 8-6 win with senior teammate Grant Hudson against St. Lawrence.
This season, MacLean is 15-3 overall with an 8-1 mark in singles play and 7-2 in doubles.
MacLean and the Sea Gulls are in action this evening, Wednesday, March 22, at Occidental College in California. The contest will begin at 8 p.m., eastern time.
