SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team took on the State University of New York at Oneonta on Saturday at the Salisbury University Tennis Center coming away with a 9-0 win.
The Sea Gulls (14-5) quickly swept the doubles contests with Garrett Malave and Brandon Danganan earning an 8-1 win at No. 3 while the top two Sea Gull teams won by 8-2 scores. Colt Williamson and Ian Siew earned the win at No. 1 while Matthew Ryan and Patrick MacLean picked up the victory at No. 2.
The six singles victories for Salisbury all went in straight sets, with Ryan winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 and Siew earning a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2. Kelson Weber was good for a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5.
Williamson and MacLean each allowed their opponents from Oneonta (6-9) just four games with Williamson winning 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1 and MacLean earning a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 4. Stefan Hein collected a 6-3, 6-2 win for the final Sea Gull point at No. 3.
The Sea Gulls are back in action on Sunday, April 22 hosting Harford Community College, beginning at noon. Prior to the start of the match, the Sea Gulls will celebrate their two seniors.
