Sebbane named CAC Softball Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. – Freshman third baseman Katie Sebbane was named the first Capital Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for the 2013 season, the league announced on Tuesday. 

Sebbane went 5-for-6 in Salisbury's first doubleheader of the season against Eastern Mennonite University. The Frederick, Md., native went 3-for-3 in game two with one double and two RBIs in the Sea Gulls' 10-2 victory over the Royals in five innings.

The freshman ended the season opener with an .833 batting average.

SU heads to Virginia Beach, Va., for the two-day Virginia Wesleyan Beach Blast tournament at Princess Anne Park. Salisbury takes the field against Randolph-Macon College at 2 p.m., on Friday, March 1, before facing North Carolina Wesleyan College at 4 p.m.
