LOUISEVILLE, Ky. – The Salisbury University softball team jumped six spots in the latest NFCA Division III Top 25 poll announced on Wednesday.
After going 4-0 last weekend at the Virginia Wesleyan Beach Blast the Sea Gulls (8-0) have sailed to No. 18 in the nation, tied with Carthage College. Both teams tallied 70 points in the poll.
The top-two teams in the nation stayed put as No. 1 Montclair State University earned seven first-place votes and 199 points while Luther College remained second with 188 points. The University of Texas at Tyler moved up one spot and is now ranked third with 179 points. Emory University collected the last first-place and is ranked fourth.
After sweeping Virginia Wesleyan College on Tuesday, SU returns home to host the Sea Gull Classic at the Henry Parker Complex in Salisbury, Md., this Friday and Saturday. The Sea Gulls will then turnaround and host Lynchburg College at the SU Softball Field on Sunday, March 10.
