CULVER CITY, Calif. – Fastpitch News released its Division III Softball All-Americans for the 2017 season and Salisbury University junior LeAnne Collins was named to the first team.
Collins batted .537 on the season and slugged a team-best .787 thanks to 11 doubles, seven triples and three home runs while knocking in 30 runs. The Sparks, Maryland native scored a team-high 48 runs this season, while her .583 on-base percentage ranked seventh in the nation and her batting average was third-highest in Division III.
A stellar defensive player, as well, Collins had a .975 fielding percentage with three outfield assists and was part of a pair of double plays.
This is the sixth postseason honor for Collins, who has also been named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year, a first-team National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American and a finalist for the NFCA Player of the Year award.
