Softball tops Washington in tournament opener
The Salisbury University softball team picked up an 8-0 win in five innings in the first game of the Salisbury University Softball Tournament on Saturday, March 3 against Washington College. The Sea Gulls got a complete-game effort from junior Shannon Powell, who struck out four and gave up just three hits to earn her second win of the year. The Sea Gulls scored twice early, but blew the game open in the fourth inning, scoring six times to stretch the lead to 8-0. Dakotah Fraley, who went 2-for-2, scoring three times, drove in two with this single down the right field line. Moments later, freshman Madeira Alexander drove this double to right-center field plating two runs. The win was the fourth in five games to begin the season for the Sea Gulls.
