EWING TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The Salisbury University men's and women's track & field teams traveled to The College of New Jersey to compete in 2017 Lions Invitational on Saturday.
Emily Wahlgren got the Sea Gulls off and running with an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles coming home in a time of 1:08.30. She continued her success in the 100-meter hurdles finishing the race in a time of 16.20 seconds.
On the men's side Eric Halton and Zach Schmelz earned second and fourth place respectively in the 400-meter dash. Halton crossed the finish line in a time of 47.93 seconds while Schmelz finished less than two seconds behind his teammate with a time of 49.00 seconds flat.
Tyler Hardman finished just over two seconds behind Schmelz coming home in a time of 51.80 seconds.
Emmanuel Porquin turned in a solid performance in the 800-meter run posting a time of 2:00.38.
In the field events Jeffrey McInnis posted a seventh-place finish in the long jump after posting a jump of 21' 8.75".
Matthew Adedeji captured a ninth-place finish in the triple jump after jumping a distance of 44' 4" just three quarters of an inch behind the eighth place finisher.
Salisbury will next compete at the SWAT Last Chance Meet held by Swarthmore College on Saturday May 15. The meet is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
