NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association released its All-America honors for the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season on Tuesday morning. Salisbury University senior Meghan McGowan earned All-America honors in the high jump.
McGowan captured a seventh-place finish at the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Geneva, Ohio. This is McGowan's first outdoor All-America honor while she has been named an indoor All-America twice.
"Becoming an All-American again truly topped off an awesome career," McGowan said. "I like to think that I've had a pretty successful career here at SU and I have had amazing teammates and coaches that have helped and supported me through it all. I could not have done it without them, especially my high jump coach, Coach Bruce Wilson."
McGowan earned USTFCCCA All-Mideast Region honors last week for the second time in her outdoor career and third time overall. This is the fourth postseason accolade for McGowan as she has also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors as well as being a First-Team All-CAC selection after winning the high jump at the 2017 Capital Athletic Conference Championship back in April.
Student-athletes earned USTFCCCA All-America status by virtue of finishing among the top eight in their events at the NCAA championships.
