BIRMINGHAM, Al. – Salisbury University track & field junior Jamie Farley completed her weekend at the 2018 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Track & Field Championships on Friday afternoon.
"The experience was fun but a little overwhelming for sure," Farley said. "However, altogether though it was fun and it was great to be a part of such a big meet."
Farley earned a 13th-place finish in the 400-meter dash posting a time of 57.70 seconds. Her time was just over a second behind the last qualifying spot for the finals on Saturday afternoon.
"Competing in the indoor championships will help me in a few ways," Farley said. "It helped me learn to push myself through the pain and to always pushy myself to be better."
Farley caps her indoor season having broken a combined eight records overall including six school records. She currently owns the school record for the 200, 400, and 500-meter dashes while also owning the Capital Athletic Conference championship and indoor meet records.
"My indoor season performance overall I think was good. I still have a lot of stuff to learn and to get better at but I know that I have progressed from last year," Farley said.
Salisbury will return to action on March 16-17 when it travels to Coastal Carolina University to compete in the Coastal Carolina Spring Break Meet. The meet is scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
