FREDERISCKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released weekly track & field honors on Tuesday afternoon and Salisbury University women's track & field athlete Kyleigh Dumas earned conference recognition as she was named the Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Dumas climbed into the Salisbury University track & field record book on April 21 at the Captains Classic posting a new mark in the pole vault surpassing her own record. Dumas cleared the bar at a height of 12' to not only break the record but also pick up a victory in the event. Her height of 12' breaks the record she originally set back in March at Coastal Carolina with a mark of 11' 5.75". Dumas tied her original record just last week at the Towson Invitational as well.
This is the third CAC honor Dumas has received this season and her second field athlete accolade of the outdoor season.
Salisbury returns to action on Thursday, April 26 when it will travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to compete at the Historic Penn Relays hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.
