YORK, Pa. – Salisbury University sophomore point guard Anna Hackett has been named CAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Hackett averaged 19.7 points, 4.7 assists and 2.7 steals per game last week, leading Salisbury to a 2-1 week with wins over Valley Forge Christian College and the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts en route to claiming SU's Optimist Tournament title on Saturday.
Hackett matched her career high, 26 points, against Valley Forge and shot 76.9 percent from the floor against the Patriots. The sophomore then added 24 points against MCLA, to hit 50 points on the weekend.
For the week, Hackett shot 24-for-43 (55.8 percent) from the field, 9-for-12 (75 percent) from the free-throw line with 59 points on the week. For the season, Hackett has shot 47.1 percent from the floor and 85.2 percent from the free-throw line.
Salisbury returns to action on Thursday, Dec. 6 against Eastern University at 7 p.m., and will then host its first Capital Athletic Conference game on Saturday, Dec. 8 against Frostburg State University at 1 p.m.
