Women's basketball picked to finish fifth in CAC

YORK Pa. – The Salisbury University women's basketball team was selected to finish fifth in the Capital Athletic Conference based on the preseason coaches' poll that was announced on Thursday.

A top the poll sits the University of Mary Washington, which received six first-place votes. Coming in a close second is Christopher Newport University with four first-place votes. Rounding out the top five, Marymount (Va.) University and York College of Pennsylvania, while the Sea Gulls sit in fifth.

Last season the Sea Gulls went 13-13, while picking up a 9-9 record in the CAC. A year ago the team had five players go for over 150 points and the team returns four of those players to combine for an experienced bunch that will be pushed by a talented incoming group.

Salisbury will get its season underway on Tuesday, November 15 as it welcomes Virginia Wesleyan University to the Maggs Physical Activities Center. That game is set to tip at 5:30 p.m.
