Nestor named Chesapeake Region Coach of the Year

GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced its top coaches of the 2016 season and for the 11th time Salisbury University's Jim Nestor was named the region's top coach.

Nestor, who led Salisbury to an 18-3 record and the program's 17th NCAA tournament appearance in 2016, was named the Chesapeake Region Coach of the Year. He is one of eight Division III coaches honored.

The Sea Gulls collected their 14th-straight Capital Athletic Conference championship after going a perfect 8-0 in conference play and extending their CAC winning streak to 94 games. Nestor also earned both CAC and ECAC Coach of the Year honors.

Nestor was named the region coach of the year in 2004 and 2005 as well as an eight-year stretch from 2007 through 2014.
