Women’s lacrosse jumps one spot to No. 5 in IWLCA poll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released the Division III Coaches Poll on Monday afternoon and Salisbury University moved up one spot to No. 5.

Salisbury earned 525 points and one first-place vote after defeating No. 8 Washington and Lee University 12-8 in its lone game of the week.

Gettysburg College received the remaining 24 first-place votes and 624 total points to remain at No. 1. The College of New Jersey (596 points), Trinity (Conn.) College (556 points), and Middlebury College (550) held their positions at spots two through four, respectively.

Salisbury broke the tie from last week with York College of Pennsylvania, who remained at No. 6 with 507 points. Fellow Capital Athletic Conference member University of Mary Washington jumped four spots to No. 7 after garnering 436 points. St. Mary's College of Maryland fell three spots to No. 24 with 84 points.

The Sea Gulls host Rowan University on Tuesday, March 6 at 4 p.m.
