FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly women's lacrosse awards on Monday afternoon and Salisbury University seniors Dana King and Gianna Falcone were named the league's Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.
King earned Offensive Player of the Week recognition after tallying 10 points on nine goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for the fifth-ranked Sea Gulls. In a 13-10 win against Rowan University, King scored six goals for the second-straight game to help lift Salisbury over the Profs. The senior then added three goals and one assist in a 16-4 victory at Washington College. King was a perfect 3-of-3 on free position shots in the two wins while posting a shooting percentage of 75 percent.
Falcone was named Defensive Player of the Week after posting a 65.4 save percentage and 6.74 goals against average to pick up two wins for the Sea Gulls. The senior goalkeeper made 17 saves while allowing just nine goals in a little over 80 minutes of action. Falcone also collected four groundballs in the two wins.
Salisbury is back in action on Friday, March 16 at 3 p.m. as the Sea Gulls host The College at Brockport.
