DOVER, Del. – The third ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team cruised to a convincing 20-4 Capital Athletic Conference victory over Wesley College on Tuesday afternoon.
Four different players scored their first career goals, while two others notched their first's of the season. Alexis Strobel recorded her first career goal to go along with six assists, while Brianna Held notched her first two career goals. Julie Talbert and Mackenzie Griffith each found the back of the net once for the first markers of their career, while Talbert added two assists. Ryan Schrader scored her first two goals of the season and Abby Single recorded her first as well.
Gianna Falcone, Skye Graham, and Sylvanna Polito each saw time in net, with the trio holding Wesley (5-2, 0-1 CAC) to four goals on nine shots on net. Falcone made three saves in the first half to earn the win.
The Sea Gulls jumped out to a 4-0 lead before the Wolverines got on the board, but Salisbury responded with six straight to take control and make it 10-1. Salisbury pushed the lead to 16-2 at halftime and added four more in the second half while holding Wesley to just two goals in each half.
Salisbury returns home for the first of five straight at Sea Gull Stadium on Wednesday, March 28 at 4 p.m. against Franklin & Marshall College.
