Women’s lacrosse moves up to No. 2 in IWLCA poll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released the Division III Coaches Poll on Monday afternoon and Salisbury University moved up one spot to No. 2.

The Sea Gulls earned 590 points in this week's poll, coming in 35 points behind No. 1 Gettysburg College, who received all 25 first place votes. Salisbury went 3-0 last week with convincing conference wins over Wesley College and Southern Virginia University as well as a 15-4 triumph over No. 10 Franklin & Marshall College.

The College of New Jersey moved up one spot to No. 3, garnering 578 points. Middlebury College suffered its first loss of the season and dropped to No. 4 with 554 points. Capital Athletic Conference foe University of Mary Washington rounds out the top five by moving up one spot from No. 6, receiving 513 points.

York College of Pennsylvania, the only other CAC member in the top 25, fell four spots to No. 9 with 414 points.

Salisbury hosts Christopher Newport University in CAC action on Wednesday, April 4 at 5 p.m.
