VIDEO: Women's Lacrosse vs. Southern Virginia
The third ranked Salisbury University women’s lacrosse team defeated Southern Virginia University 20-1 in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon, with 14 different players tallying goals for Salisbury. The Sea Gulls outscored the Knights 10-0 in the first half, with all 10 goals coming from different players. Freshman Brianna Held scored a team-high three goals, including one in the first half and two in the second. Lindsey Wagner tied a team-high with four points on two goals and two assists. Wagner and the Sea Gulls outshot Southern Virginia 20-3 in the first half and 37-7 in the game. Wagner has now scored two or more goals in the last three games, totaling 12 points over that span. Abby Single joined Wagner with two goals while adding an assist. Single scored the final two goals of the game for Salisbury, both coming on feeds from Alexis Strobel. Freshman Lydia McNulty also tallied two goals in the win for Salisbury, who moved to 11-0 on the season and 3-0 in CAC play. Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, April 4 against CAC rival Christopher Newport University at 5 p.m.
