FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly women's lacrosse awards on Monday and Salisbury University junior goalkeeper Skye Graham was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week.
Graham posted a 7.41 goals-against average and 53.3 save percentage in a 2-1 week for No. 4 Salisbury, with all three games coming against top-10 opponents.
The junior held both No. 6 Franklin & Marshall College and No. 3 University of Mary Washington to six goals below their average, giving up five and seven goals, respectively. In a 9-5 win over Franklin & Marshall, Graham made 11 saves on 16 shots, good for a 68.8 save percentage. She followed that performance up by making five saves in an 11-7 victory over Mary Washington, shutting out the Eagles in the second half.
In Salisbury's lone loss of the week, Graham made eight saves. She made a total of 24 saves in the three games to along with five groundballs and one caused turnover.
The Sea Gulls are back in action on Saturday, April 6 when they host Frostburg State University at 12 p.m.
