Knussman named ECAC South Region’s Defensive Player of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced the players of the week for the week ending October 29, and Salisbury University Senior Goalkeeper Hope Knussman was named the South Region Defensive Player of the week for the first time in her career.

Knussman combined for 11 saves over two games last week, ten of which came in a first round Capital Athletic Conference victory over Penn State University-Harrisburg on October 28.  Both the first round victory and the regular season finale victory over Wesley College on October 25 came by way of shutout.

Knussman was also awarded CAC player of the week this past week. It was her third time this season receiving that award.

The Sea Gulls hit the road to face No. 2 seed Frostburg State University on Wednesday, November 1 at 6 p.m. in the CAC semifinals. The winner will advance to the CAC championship game on Saturday, November 4.
