On the men’s side, freshmen Colt Williamson and Ian Siew impressed, with the pair teaming to advance to the doubles draw semifinals, and each won two matches to make it to the singles quarterfinals. Siew won his first two singles matches in straight sets, while did as well, before falling to eventual runner-up Eric Spangler. Four other men earned wins in the singles draws with senior Grant Hudson, sophomore Andrew Rainger, and freshmen Patrick MacLean and Garrett Malave all collected wins before being knocked out in the second round. The teams begin their 2017 season in earnest next weekend. The men host Harford Community College on Saturday, February 18 and the women play two neutral-site matches on the same day, at the University of Mary Washington, against Franklin & Marshall College and Methodist University.
