Women's tennis blanks Catholic, 9-0
The Salisbury University women’s tennis team collected its first win of the season on Friday, a 9-0 defeat of Catholic University of America. Salisbury swept doubles play with the top pair of freshmen Julia Kwedi and Annika Kezman taking an 8-1 victory and sophomore Shannon Hickman and freshman Jordan Schaefer winning 8-3. In singles, Kwedi grabbed a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 with Kezman rolling to a 6-1, 6-1 win at the top spot. Claudia Lohn earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 and Taylor Cooper came up with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the No. 4 spot. Sage Cole battled to a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 5 and Schaefer earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at the No. 6 spot to finish off the sweep. Salisbury will be back on the courts on Sunday, February 26, hosting Bridgewater College.
