Women's tennis earns team and individual academic honors from ITA

TEMPA, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its 2018 All-Academic Teams and Scholar Athletes this week and the Salisbury University women's tennis team earned both team and individual honors.

The Sea Gulls picked up the All-Academic Team award with the squad holding a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or higher. The Salisbury men's team earned the award as well, marking the first time in Head Coach Randy Halfpap's 19 years leading the programs that both the men's and women's teams have earned the honor.

Six Sea Gulls also earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status individually, for achieving a 3.50 grade-point average or higher for the 2017-18 academic year. Juniors Taylor Cooper and Shannon McNerney, sophomores Annika Kezman, Julia Kwedi, and Jordan Schaefer, and freshman Ariana Leggio each earned the accolade.
