Women's tennis tabbed to finish third in CAC preseason poll

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team has been tabbed by the Capital Athletic Conference coaches to finish third this season, as the league release its preseason poll on Thursday.

Salisbury earned 37 points in the poll, as the University of Mary Washington picked up seven first-place votes and 49 points, while Christopher Newport University earned 43 points and the final first-place vote to take the top two spots.

York College of Pennsylvania, with 28 points, landed fourth in the poll while Southern Virginia University rounds out the top five, with 25 points.

Salisbury begins the season with the Sea Gull Open at the Salisbury University Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday and Sunday, February 9 and 10, before playing its first match of the season next Saturday, February 16 in Fredericksburg against Methodist University.
