Brown named first CAC Player of the Week for women's tennis

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly tennis awards on Tuesday and Salisbury University sophomore Laura Brown was named the first Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the 2019 season.

Brown, who transferred into Salisbury at the beginning of the 2018-19 year, earned four individual wins in the team's first two matches of the season. At No. 2 doubles, she combined with Taylor Cooper to pick up wins of 8-2 and 8-0 in team victories against Methodist University and Franklin and Marshall College.

In singles play, Brown earned a pair of wins at No. 2, picking up wins of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-3

Brown and the Sea Gulls return to action this weekend, hosting Catholic University of America.
