Women's tennis closes CAC road weekend with 9-0 win over Bobcats

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 win at Frostburg State University on Sunday morning, dropping just 14 games over the nine matches.

Junior Annika Kezman and sophomore Laura Brown picked up an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles while junior Jordan Schaefer and sophomore Sydney Soto won by an 8-1 score at No. 2 and senior Shannon Hickman and sophomore Ariana Leggio took an 8-2 win at No. 3 for a three-point Salisbury lead heading into singles play.

Soto and freshman Sarah Dover each picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles play with Soto doing so at No. 3 and Dover winning at No. 5.

Brown won by a 6-0, 6-1 score at No. 2 singles while Kezman earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 1. Hickman took a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4 and Leggio was good for a 6-3, 6-3 triumph in the No. 6 spot.

The Sea Gulls will be back in action on Wednesday, April 10, hosting Harford Community College beginning at 4 p.m.
