Justin Turco named Salisbury volleyball head coach
Salisbury University Director of Athletics and Recreation Dr. Michael Vienna announced on Friday that the University has hired Justin Turco as the new Head Volleyball Coach, becoming the 13th head coach in program history.

The Eastern College Athletic Conference released its final volleyball honors and Salisbury University senior Carley Todd was named an ECAC Division III South All-Star.

Inside SU Volleyball: Sea Gulls fly to national championship weekend
This has been such an amazing season for Salisbury volleyball. It was a season full of firsts. It was the first time we were ranked higher than No. 21. It was the first time Salisbury volleyball was chosen to host the Regionals and to become Regional Champions. It was the first time Salisbury volleyball has ever gone to Nationals. It was the first time a player has been named an All-American for four years in a row and the first time a player was named First Team All-American. It was the first time an assistant coach for volleyball has been named National Assistant Coach of the Year.

Volleyball climbs to No. 12 in final AVCA poll
On the heels of the conclusion of the NCAA Division III volleyball tournament, the American Volleyball Coaches Association released its final top 25 coaches’ poll and Salisbury University, which advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament, reached a new high, being ranked No. 12 to end the season.

The American Volleyball Coaches Association released its All-Region Teams on Thursday and Salisbury saw three players named to the All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team and Head Coach Margie Knight was honored as the region's Coach of the Year.

Free digital programs offered for NCAA field hockey, volleyball tournaments
In an effort to go green, the NCAA has limited the practice of producing hard copy tournament programs. For the second year, programs will still be produced, but for select championships, they will only be made available electronically, free of charge.

The wins earned Head Coach Margie Knight her 400th career victory, while senior middle hitter Chelsea Glowacki tied for the program record in career blocks.

The No. 18 Salisbury University volleyball team saw its 20-match winning streak come to a close on the second day of the Salisbury University Invitational on Sunday, falling to Richard Stockton College, 3-0. But the Gulls rebounded nicely, beginning what they hope to be another long streak with a 3-0 non-conference win against the University of Mary Washington in their second match of the day.

Last week we had our first in-conference game against York College. It always seems like when we are playing a team that is in our conference the intensity and excitement is always a little bit higher. York has always been a very strong opponent so we prepared hard during practices for this match. All the girls and I were ready and eager and were able to come out very strong. We couldn’t have been happier with our 3-0 win, which has hopefully set the stage for the rest of our in-conferences games.
