Todd named first CAC volleyball Player of the Week for 2012

YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly volleyball awards and Salisbury University senior setter Carley Todd was named the league's first Player of the Week for 2012.

Todd paced Salisbury to four 3-0 wins at the NYU Invitational over the weekend, hosted by New York University, to earn the team championship. For her efforts, Todd was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

The Greenlawn, N.Y., native registered 30 kills, 101 assists and 47 digs in the four matches, playing in just 11 sets. She started the season strong, posting a triple-double in the team's opening match of the year with 11 kills, 27 assists and 22 digs against the State University of New York at New Paltz.

Salisbury will be back in action on Tuesday night, when the Sea Gulls welcome No. 1 Christopher Newport University to Maggs Physical Activities Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
