Salisbury in tie for 18th in latest AVCA poll
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association released its weekly Top 25 Coaches' Poll on Tuesday, and Salisbury University remained at No. 18 in this week's poll, tied with Colorado College, which moved up from No. 20.
Salisbury went 4-1 in the last week, including claiming the championship of the Salisbury University Invitational, the Sea Gulls' fifth tournament championship of the year. Salisbury and CC each have 165 points, 18 points behind No. 17 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
The top-five teams remained the same, though the order was shaken up this week. Washington University of St. Louis remained atop the poll, with 582 points and 26 first-place votes, while Hope College (547 points, one first-place vote) jumped three spots to No. 2. Wittenberg University (540, seven first-place votes) remained at No. 3 followed by Calvin College (532) and Christopher Newport University (516).
Salisbury returns to the court, and Capital Athletic Conference action, hosting Wesley College on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m., in Maggs Physical Activities Center.
