Volleyball picked to finish third in poll

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released the 2017 preseason coaches' poll on Tuesday morning and Salisbury University volleyball was tabbed to finish third, earning 63 points.

The University of Mary Washington was selected to defend its CAC title as the Eagles garnered 79 points and earned seven first-place votes. Christopher Newport University was selected to finish second totaling 72 points and picking up the other two first-place votes.

Marymount (Va.) University finished just below the Sea Gulls with 60 points while York College of Pennsylvania rounded out the top five picking up 41 points.

Salisbury opens its season on Friday, September 1 against Medaille College when it hosts the annual Sea Gull Classic. The match is set to start at 4 p.m.
