FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards for volleyball on Monday and Salisbury University junior Nicole Venturelli was named the league's Player of the Week.
Venturelli led the Sea Gulls to a 3-1 mark at the Knights Invitational, hosted by Neumann University, coming up with a total of 72 kills in the four matches, while registering a hitting percentage of .279 with 28 digs and a pair of double-doubles.
In a 3-0 win against Neumann, Venturelli was good for a season-high-tying 19 kills. Her 178 kills and 4.34 kills per set this season both lead the CAC.
Venturelli and the Sea Gulls hit the road again this weekend, traveling to the Carnegie Mellon Volleyball Invitational on September 22 and 23.
