YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards and Salisbury University sophomore Ryan Jackson continued his stronghold on the Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week as he capped a perfect regular season with the honor.
Jackson placed third, of 347 runners, at the Gettysburg Invitational covering the 8,000-kilometer course in a time of 27:02. The Laurel, Md., native has not finished lower than third in any of his five races this season. He has seen only seven runners finish ahead of him this season while finishing ahead of 1,312 runners, for a winning percentage of .995.
Jackson won all five CAC Athlete of the Week Awards that he was eligible for during the 2011 season, and now prepares to defend his CAC championship. The league's cross country championships will be run at York, Pa., on Saturday, Oct. 29.
