Tockman, Spinapont sweep weekly CAC cross country honors

YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly men's and women's cross country awards with Salisbury University's Kyle Tockman and Hailey Spinapont being named men's and women's athlete of the week, respectively.

Tockman, a freshman, finished the men's Sea Gull Opener in fourth place, first among CAC scoring runners with a time of 26:33.49. Spinapont, a sophomore, finished the women's Sea Gull Opener fifth overall, first among CAC runners with a time of 22:56.

Salisbury hosted the Sea Gull Opener at Winter Place Park, a spot Spinapont is comfortable with. The 22:56 matches her career-best 6K time, which she set at Winter Place last year.

The Sea Gulls will be off next week before traveling north to take part in the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 15.
