YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly cross country awards on Tuesday and Salisbury University freshman Kyle Tockman was named Athlete of the Week.
Tockman paced the Gulls at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, placing 15th of 293 runners, crossing the finish line in a time of 25:27.60. The time was more than a minute faster than his first collegiate 8,000-meter race just two weeks earlier.
The award is the second this season for Tockman, who also earned the honor following his fourth-place finish at the Sea Gull Opener on Sept. 1.
Salisbury will return to action this Saturday, traveling west to the Frostburg Invitational, hosted by Frostburg State University.
