YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its All-Conference teams for men's and women's cross country and five Salisbury University student-athletes earned the honors for their performance at the 2012 CAC Championships in Frostburg, Md., on Oct. 27.
Sophomore Hailey Spinapont was the Sea Gulls' highest finisher in either race, and earned first-team honors on the women's side. She was the second-place finisher at the CAC meet, completing the course in 24:01.74. It marks the second CAC all-conference recognition for Spinapont, who was a first-team member last season and has been named CAC Athlete of the Week four times this season.
Senior Jessie Early was Salisbury's second all-conference member on the women's side, as she was selected to the second team, with a 15th-place finish at the CAC championships.
Freshman Kyle Tockman was Salisbury's lone qualifier for the men's first team, placing sixth at the CAC championships with a time of 27:59.82.
The awards are the first in the careers of Early, Tockman, Burke and Skarda.
With the five runners earning all-conference honors, the men's and women's programs have had 156 all-conference honorees in program history.
The Sea Gulls will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 10, when they travel to Carlisle, Pa., for the NCAA Mideast Regionals.
