Trio of Sea Gull men named to All-CAC Second Team

YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its first All-CAC teams of the 2013-14 academic year, with the release of the all-conference men's and women's cross country teams, on Wednesday, and three Salisbury University student-athletes earned recognition by the league for their performances in the 2013 CAC championships, this past weekend.

Senior Nathan Austin, junior Jeremy Skarda and sophomore Thomas Burke were all named to the All-CAC second team, after finishing as a group in the championship meet, hosted on Salisbury's home course at Winter Place Park.

Austin was Salisbury's top finisher in the race, placing 14th, with a time of 26:28.9. He was followed closely by Burke (26:31.3) and Skarda (26:31.9) in 15th and 16th.

The All-CAC selections are the second for Burke and Skarda, who each earned second-team honors in 2012. The accolade is the first for Austin.

The trio will lead the Sea Gulls into the NCAA Mideast Regional Championship at Bethlehem, Pa., on Saturday, Nov. 16.
