DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Salisbury men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Dartmouth, Massachusetts to compete in the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Saturday morning. The women finished sixth while the men's team placed third.
Freshman Liana Foianini paced the Sea Gulls on the women's side crossing the finish line in a time of 19:16.74 to finish 24th overall. Alison Schwartz came in just behind Foianini crossing the finish line less than 20 seconds later coming home in a time of 19:31.00 to place 36th.
Carly Sniffen came in under the 20-minute mark placing 63rd overall, crossing the finish line in a time of 19:53.13 while sophomore Abigail Potter rounded out the group of Gulls under the 20-minuute mark with a time of 19:59.96 to finish 69th.
Ashley Mazer came in right behind her teammate, Potter, placing 72nd finishing the race with a time of 20:01.28.
Junior Fiona Halloran rounded out the Salisbury runners coming home in a time of 20:11.33 to place 83rd overall.
Sophomore runner Branson Oduor turned in an impressive performance battling to a third-place finish coming home in a time of 25:26.31, just four seconds behind the winner.
Junior Conner Masteran came in just over 30 seconds behind his teammate, Strickland, in a time of 26:46.02 to place 45th. Classmate Emmanuel Porquin finished just two seconds behind Masteran finishing 48th and in a time 26:48.43.
The Sea Gulls will return to action on September 30 when they host the annual Don Cathcart Invitational. The meet is scheduled to start at 9:45 a.m.
