Mazer earns Salisbury's first women's all-region honor in more than 10 years

NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its all-region performers from the 2018 regional meets and Salisbury University junior Ashley Mazer was one of 35 honored from the NCAA Mideast Regional.

Mazer placed 25th, of more than 300 runners, in the 6,000-meter race hosted by DeSales University on Saturday, November 10 to earn her place on the all-region team, as the top-35 finishers at each of the NCAA's eight regional events are named to the team.

The Ellicott City, Maryland native is the 19th runner to win all-region honors on the women's side for Salisbury, and the first since Kelly Sullivan did so in 2007.

Mazer closed the season as Salisbury's top finisher in each of the team's final four races of the season.
