FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its 2018-19 All-Academic Team on Wednesday morning and Salisbury University placed 204 of the total 1,445 student-athletes on the list of honorees. The Sea Gulls' 205 student-athletes were the fourth highest total in the CAC.
Student-athletes in one or more CAC championship sports that attain a grade point average of 3.20 or higher for the academic year are named to the All-Academic team. An eye popping 51 percent of CAC student-athletes posted a 3.20 GPA this past academic year, 1,445 of 2,832.
Seven institutions had a least 100 student-athletes on the CAC All-Academic team, with York College of Pennsylvania leading the way with a total of 278. St. Mary's College of Maryland, which placed 165 student-athletes on the team, Christopher Newport University and Salisbury were the only other institutions that placed at least 50 percent of its student-athletes on the All-Academic team.
