WESTMINSTER, MD – The Salisbury University swimming teams traveled to McDaniel University for their first meet in over a month as both squads fell to the Green Terror. The men lost 44-51, while the women were downed 34-60.
Men
Sophomore Peter Moyer led the Sea Gulls with two first-place finishes on the day. Moyer's victories came in the 200-yard freestyle, posting a time of 1:46.93 and again in the 500-yard freestyle, notching a time of 5:07.17.
Also having a strong day for Salisbury was senior Okan Eyigor, who took first place in the 100-yard back stroke, earning a time of 53.91 seconds.
Sophomore Andrew Ward also shined for the Sea Gulls as he took home first place in the 100-yard freestyle, notching a time of 50.15 seconds. Ward, alongside fellow teammates Scott Schirmer, Max Lucas and Conor Johnston shined again for Salisbury as they earned first-place honors in the 200-yard freestyle relay, posting a time of 1:31.72.
Women
Senior Victoria Radcliffe got the Sea Gulls on the board early as she took home first place in the 200-yard freestyle, earning a time of 1:58.16. Radcliffe earned her second victory on the day in the 100-yard breast stroke, posting a time of 1:12.71.
Also placing for the Gulls was Layne Gable, Claudia Guay, Angela Barzanti and Bizu Baldinazzo as they brought home another first-place finish for Salisbury in the 200-yard freestyle relay, recording a time of 1:49.46.
The Sea Gulls return to action on Saturday, January 14, as they travel to Marymount (Va.) University. The meet is set to begin at 2 p.m.
