SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's and women's swimming teams hosted Frostburg State University in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon. The Salisbury men earned their first victory of the season, 110-92, while the women fell to the Bobcats, 115-90.

Men

The 200-meter medley relay team of Richard Baker, Kyle Russell, Josh Brown, and Andrew Ward opened the meet with a first-place finish in a time of 1:51.70.

Brown earned the first individual victory of the day for the men in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 24.27 seconds.

In the next event, Russell claimed first in the 200-meter IM with a time of 2:20.23.

Peter Moyer edged out the competition in the 100-meter freestyle, finishing in a time of 54.59 seconds.

Baker captured a convincing victory in the 200-meter backstroke, posting a time of 2:17.00.

Russell claimed the fifth and final individual victory of the day for the men in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:33.82, while Ben Gardner and Jeff Roman finished behind Russell to give the Sea Gulls the top three finishers.

The men finished the meet by taking home the top two spots in the 200-meter freestyle relay. The team of Ward, Roman, Baker, and Brown placed first with a time of 1:39.15, while the team of Keaton Burke, Brandon Hoagland, Kai Busquets, and Gardner finished second in a time of 1:44.33.

Women

Ryane Porter claimed the first victory of the day for the women in the 200-meter freestyle, finishing in a time of 2:23.20.

In the very next event, Natalie Eakin won the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 28.62 seconds, while Chase McClure followed up Eakin with a second-place finish in a time of 29.38 seconds.

The women ended the afternoon with a victory in the 200-meter freestyle relay. The team of Jordyn Rowe, Mary Green, McClure, and Eakin edged out Frostburg State with a time of 1:57.80.

The Salisbury men's and women's swimming teams return to action on Wednesday, November 7 as they host Washington College at 5 p.m.
