Men’s Swimming continues perfect season with 158.5-103.5 win over Catholic

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Salisbury University men's swimming team extended its dual-meet win streak with a 158.5-103.5 victory over the Catholic Cardinals on Saturday. It is Salisbury's first victory over Catholic since the 2009-10 season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
  • The Sea Gulls won both relay events and added in six first-place finishes.
  • Christopher Knorr led the way with two first-place finishes in the 100- and 200-yard fly. Knorr finished the 100 fly with a time of 53.16 seconds and the 200 fly in 2:03.39. Knorr also collected a second-place effort in the 200-yard free (1:51.04)
  • David Gardner also touched the wall in first in a pair of events. Gardner won the 500 free (5:01.79) and the 1,000-yard free (10:22.05).
  • Michael DeSimone earned two golds in the 50 free (21.68) and the 100-yard free (49.06).
  • Daniel Grigoryev recorded a trio of second-place efforts in the 200 IM (2:04.59), 100 back (55.34) and the 200-yard back (2:00.59).
  • The men's team added in 14 other top-three finishers in the victory.
 
UP NEXT
 
  • The Sea Gulls will host the St. Mary's Seahawks on Saturday, Jan 28 for the final dual-meet of the season
  • The meet is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. with senior day festivities before the meet.
