Men's Swimming defeats Rowan at Maggs Pool, 144-118

SALISBURY, Md. – It was an electric atmosphere inside Maggs Pool on Saturday afternoon as the Salisbury University men's swim team came out on top over the Rowan University Profs for their third straight win, 144-118.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Sea Gull men were led by Christopher Knorr, who scored a team-high 27 points with three individual first-place finishes in the 100-meter freestyle (54.02) and butterfly (57.19) as well as the 200-meter butterfly (2:09.42). The 200-meter medley relay team consisting of Knorr, Lucas Mitchell, Brady Wolf, and Michael DeSimone picked up a second-place finish for Salisbury.
  • In addition to the second-place finish in the 200-meter medley relay, DeSimone earned a win in the 50-meter freestyle, finishing in 24.26. The relay team consisting of DeSimone, Dominic Kazzi, Mark Dattilio, and Owen Brewer picked up a second-place finish in the 200-meter freestyle relay.
  • Brewer added support for the Sea Gulls, finishing second in the 100 and 200-meter freestyles while also picking up a third-place finish in the 50-meter freestyle.
  • Matt Merke provided Salisbury with some stellar swimming, picking up wins in the 400-meter freestyle (4:11.10) and the 800-meter freestyle (8:39.31). He also earned a second-place finish in the 200-meter IM with a time of 2:11.73.
  • The Sea Gulls finished the meet with six first-place finishes, 10 second-place finishes, and 10 third-place finishes.
UP NEXT
  • Salisbury gets a few weeks to rest before jumping back into the pool on Friday, Dec. 1 for the two-day Swarthmore Invitational.
  • Day one in Swarthmore, Pa. at Ware Pool is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
