Women's Tennis falls to No. 33 UMW in C2C Semifinals

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The fourth-seeded Salisbury University women's tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision to the top seed and 33rd-ranked Mary Washington Eagles in the semifinals of the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The closest doubles match was at third doubles with Hannah Carter and Evelyn Whiteside picking up a pair of points in the set in an 8-2 defeat to the team of Emily Beckner and Riley Smith.
  • Katherine Tamesis fell 6-0, 6-1 to Abby Moghtader, the ninth-ranked singles player in the Atlantic South.
  • UMW clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win at third singles with Hana Kimmey defeating Olivia Hall.
UP NEXT
  • Salisbury will await a potential Pool B or at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.
  • The selections will be released on Monday, May 1.
